Things are going ok.
Getting heaps of movement which is lovely :)
The last few days I have been REALLY exhausted though, if I dont pick up soon (taking mulit-vs) I think I will need to get bloods taken to check iron/b12 levels etc. I might give my midwife a ring and see what she thinks (I don't see her again till the 16th)
I am curious as to how big my belly is going to get lol It feels HUGE Just all extra stretchy and stuff I guess!
So apart from exhausted, yeah everything is going along smoothly :)
Here is my belly:
Don't really think its much different to 20weeks!
Feeling lots of lovely movement, its glorious.
I'm on top of the housework at the moment which is SO nice :)
I gave Dax a fright the other day, I was listening to music on the PC (iTunes) and stopped it to listen to something on a webpage, had to turn the volume up, went back to listening to music, FORGOT that I had turned the volume up so it was a bit loud, I jumped, and Dax gave me a big kick hehe
Im exhausted, need to get some more multi-vitamins have run out. Had Homebirth Support Group meeting today, its just so lovely to be surrounded by women & midwives who share the same birthing views and beliefs as me, those tellling their glorious homebirth stories, those pregnant, those who have had their children and are now doulas or training to be midwives. Its a fenced in park so Lauren had a blast running around playing (had to put her in the bath when we got home as she was filthy with bark dust) but its just so wonderful!
I paid my money and become a member of HMA, bought a gorgeous mug which I must photograph, and got my issue of Down to Bith a quartley magazine produced by HMA, lots of birth stories and homebirth information.
The mug, well you cant tell cause its a mirror image (photo taken using my built in iSight webcam) but it says "trust birth" on it
So Damien felt a kick for the first time yesterday, a big boot :) Dax was obviously ready for his daddy to feel him :) I got heaps of kicks yesterday morning.
I have started going for a brisk 20min walk every morning through the park, its great, makes me feel great, fresh air .. lovely. Hoping to turn some of the newly acquired flab on my bum/thighs into usable muscle. I want to be fit for my birth as I want it to be as active as possible.
I have 'New Active Birth' by Janet Balaskas, have discovered she has a newer revised version out, not sure if I should be reading that instead?? Really need to get back into reading it.
I also want to read 'Gentle Birth, Gentle Mothering' by Sarah Buckley and I'm sure there are some other titles out there I want to read!
Dax was rolling over in my belly was so lovely, lay there this morning, Dax rolling in my belly, Lauren asleep on my arm snuggled up next to Daddy, and Damien on the other side of Lauren. Ah bliss.
Woooohoooo :D :D
Had midwife visit today, went really well. We finished doing the history stuff, I find Y so easy to talk too, I am SO glad she is my midwife.
Completely confident that she will help me achieve the birth I want :D
Belly has exploded lol, getting bigger each day I reckon.
Feeling LOTS of movements, its just so lovely. Daydreaming daily about the birth and afterwards *happy sigh* I am SO happy to be having a homebirth, getting all gushy just thinking about it.
Ok so stuff, BP was 105/65 so lower end of scale but normal for me, last visit a month ago it was 95/55.
Y listened to baby's heartbeat, a bit too hard for me to pick up just yet (she uses fetal stethoscope), and says placenta is in upper right quadrant, so WELL away from cervix, which the u/s had told me but not where.
Fundal height 21cm, so ok.
I have felt a few kicks from outside, but Dax goes quiet for Daddy, sneaky bubba.
I am so sure I am bigger than I was with Lauren at this stage, but thats probably a combination of factors, extra weight already carrying, muscles and uterus all ready stretchy from my pregnancy with Lauren.
Here is my belly tonight at 20 weeks, excuse the saggy baggy boobies *lol*
Here is my 20 week belly with Lauren
...wriggly, jiggly little baby who in no way was dropping its knees ;)
BUT I don't like saying 'it' so I will refer to bub as bub, dax or he .. mmkay??
All well, well I assume all is well.
Due date exactly as we thought 3rd september, 19weeks1day - so exact due date that Lauren had
Little bugger was hard to scan, kept flipping over and wriggling about. Much different to Lauren, she was easy to scan. BUt seriously .. this baby CANNOT be more active/high needs than Lauren .. surely ... I mean .. nooooo
Was also sucking his thumb lots *happy sigh*
Picking up film this afternoon so will be able to get the report then. Got to see lots more with this one as I guess I knew what I was looking at. Radiographer was really nice, he was not goign to tell me sex unless he was pretty darn certain (unlike the ass we had with Laurens scan)
I am actually relieved we didn't get to find out sex, takes off that doubt I had for the rest of my pregnancy with Lauren. Its funny though, before the scan Lauren was sure it was a girl, now she is saying boy lol She enjoyed seeing it on the screen, but did get bored, but wasnt yelling or anything just singing "i can sing a rainbow' really loud lol
So I'm happy, bub is a wriggly jiggly thing, which I think by the time I can feel movements more strongly may become an issue
Oh you want photos?? Alright then :P
Profile not as clear as Laurens, little bugger was so wriggly.
For comparison, Lauren at same gestation give or take a couple of days
Sucking his thumb
Sooo where am I, 17weeks 3 days. Not feeling much movement, hope it ramps up soon!
We have our 19week scan on the 10th April, looking forward to that.
Not much else to report really!!
Thought I would share my nappy stash photo :) Its only small atm, plenty of time to build it up ;) Have a heap of nappies on layby.

Met up with Y today, she is lovely :D
Both Damien & I got along with her, felt very comfortable talking with her. Lauren was ok with her :D
So positives!!
Its all go from here.
Will give her a ring tomorrow and say yes! I would like her as my midwife :) *dances*
Am 14 weeks tomorrow, seems like yesterday I was a teeeny 5 weeks with forever to go :)
I'm so excited about my homebirth, birthing in water, in my own home, not having to say goodbye to Damien, or spend a night alone in hospital, cuddles on my own lounge, snuggling and boobying my new bubba in my own bed, Lauren coming and going as she pleases *bliss*
Yay :D :D Exciting.
Hooray for reaching the 2nd trimester!
I am not feeling so burpy, slightly more energy and generally not feeling as ick as I was, onwards and upwards (well at least for this trimester!)
I can def feel the uterus up out of my pelvis now :) , the top of it that is. I am also feeling flutters every now and then, can't wait till they are more definite movements.
I'll take a belly shot a little later on. Can't wait till I have a proper baby bump! :)
So slowly starting to feel more human, huzzah!
Big step :)
Very exciting, she is lovely, we chatted for ages on the phone. Am yet to meet up with her.
She isn't sure if she can fit me in, but is going to get back to me after she has spoken to two others that were before me.
My friend(M) who is due in April, she has her as her midwife too :) *and* she had a meeting with her yesterday and Y(the midwife) mentioned that she would like me to come out to M's house on the 17th of March as she needs to give M one of her discussion topics and would be easier if I was there. Now I'm guessing this is to 'kill two birds with one stone" so she doesnt have to repeat it to me later, so that makes me assume (which is never good) that she *can* fit me in, why else would I need to be a part of the discussion???
So very exciting, starting to feel more real!
